HUDSON Mr. Paul Wade Bryan, 72, of Hudson, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Catawba Medical Center, following a period of declining health. Paul was born March 13, 1945, in Watauga County, to the late Andrew Jackson Bryan and Blanche Winebarger Bryan. He was retired from General Electric and was a United States Army veteran. Paul will always be remembered by his family as being a magnificent treasure that loved to fish, as being a dedicated pawpaw to his grandchildren, and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bryan; and brothers, Earl Bryan, Elmer Bryan, Elbert Bryan, John Bryan, Boyd Bryan. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Snyder Bryan of the home; daughters, Vicki Townsend and husband, Tracy of Granite Falls, and Paula Walker and husband, Bobby of Drexel; brothers, Glen Bryan and wife, Margaret of Hudson, and Raymond Bryan and wife, Peggy of Lenoir; sisters, Martha Ruth Nygaard and husband, Erik of Hickory, and Mary Jesse of Hickory; and grandchildren, Katlyn Elizabeth Carpenter of Hudson, Bryan Lee Walker of Drexel, and Sara Elizabeth Walker of Drexel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
