CHARLOTTE, N.C. – High Point University sophomore Blake Nicholson was named Big South Runner of the Week as announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon. This is Nicholson's first weekly accolade.
With a time of 19:05.8 on the 6k course, Nicholson placed second out of 131 competitors at the Elon Opener. He pushed to the lead group for the rest of the race after maintaining a three-minute and 11-second pace through the whole event. The Panthers finished third as a team with the help of his efforts.
Up next: Nicholson is set to compete at NC State University's Adidas XC Challenge on Friday, September 18 at 5:45 p.m.
