BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University women's wrestler Eliana Bommarito continued her impressive international career, capturing the gold medal in the women's +70 kg division at the Katerini Beach Wrestling World Series in Greece.
Bommarito stormed through the competition, opening with a dominant 3-0 technical superiority win over France's Angelique Carole Gonzalez in just 1:19. In the second round, she surged from behind to secure a thrilling 4-3 victory by fall over fellow American Kasandra Villarreal in only eight seconds. Bommarito advanced to the semifinals and once again showcased her power, dispatching Greece's Stefania Zacheila with a 3-0 technical win in 1:46.
In the championship final, Bommarito faced Ukraine's Daria Konstantynova, who had also gone unbeaten. Bommarito was in control throughout, claiming a 3-0 victory by technical superiority at 2:18 to secure the gold and cap an undefeated run in Katerini.
